Dr. Lad served for three years as the medical director of the Ayurvedic Hospital in Pune, India and was professor of clinical medicine for seven years at Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine. He is the author of several books including Ayurveda, The Science of Self Healing and is the co-author of The Yoga of Herbs. His latest book is The Textbook of Ayurveda: Fundamental Principles, which covers the material he teaches in his eight month Ayurvedic Studies Program. Dr. Lad is presently the director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM, which he founded in 1984.
